PMC helped a major automaker design the layout of a parts warehouse. Using simulation, researchers determined the staffing levels that different proposed layouts needed to achieve the facility’s targeted throughput.
PMC’s simulation team created a model of a state-of-the-art steel mill for the purpose of capacity validation. The model was used to conduct several ‘what-if’ analyses of mill operations. PMC demonstrated that the mill was capable of maintaining desired producing levels, ascertained the locations of tight constraints in the system, and also identified potential bottlenecks in the production process.
The client was designing a core production and transfer system for a foundry. Different parts of a core were manufactured in the area and then assembled into a final product. The parts of the core were transferred from the production cells to the assembly area over conveyors, on pallets.
Production Modeling Corporation (PMC) is a full-service Industrial Engineering Company with offices throughout the world with Headquarters the US. PMC employs SME’s that have manufacturing process improvement and digital technology (Digital Twin) expertise in nearly every industry to include vertical farming, poultry and cattle processing, food and beverage, automotive, aerospace pharmaceutical and many others.
In the early years of the lengthening history of usage of discrete-event system simulation, its primary domain of application was manufacturing and assembly operations; indeed, the automotive industry was one of its early adopters.
Discrete-event process simulation historically began its now long and distinguished “career” in support of manufacturing operations, ranging from assembly lines to make-to-order operations. From than auspicious beginning,
The client is a multinational conglomerate that focuses on industrial engineering and steel production. PMC offered a discrete-event simulation model to evaluate the design of a new production line and validate the throughput capacity envisioned by the client. Our utilization of discrete-event simulation techniques allowed the client to test different layout and process configurations in their design phase of their project.
The client is a leading global supplier of automotive dampers and performance shock absorbers in commercial and defense segments. PMC was able to offer its expertise in Ergonomic Analysis, MODAPTS and Dynamic Simulation modeling to identify the challenges faced by the customer to improve the current throughput in their efforts for capacity expansion.
