Are you an Industrial Engineer looking for a perm position working for a consulting firm?
Travel throughout the US (paid expenses) to work on a variety of projects that may include manufacturing plants, restaurants, food processing, and others.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-driven, and experienced Industrial Engineer. Candidates are expected to have strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience and to interact well with clients and team members in remote and partially remote work environments.
The qualified candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, LEAN, Six Sigma, Time Studies, Material Management, Layout Optimization, or similar.
The Industrial Engineer will report directly to the PMC Program Manager and is responsible for onsite data collection in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Time Studies, VSM, PFEP, and layout analysis is required.
Basic job functions MAY include but are not limited to the following:
- Performs Time Studies from data gathering to reporting.
- Planning, design, analysis, development/improvement of material handling systems as related to material docks, storage, in-house sequencing, conveyance, line side material delivery & presentation, and material delivery routings.
- Calculate material handling manpower for product lines to include new processes for material tracking, presentation, replenishment, and inventory accuracy.
- Develop material flow analysis to estimate material handler and powered industrial vehicle requirements.
- Coordinate the physical set-up of Material Flow layout areas.
- Work with Container Management for improved line-side presentation and material flow/replenishment.
- Develop, plan, evaluate, and recommend efficient solutions for difficult problems related to materials handling systems.
- Identify inefficiencies and develop solutions in a consultative manner with clients/customers.
- Develop layouts, design documents, equipment specifications/data sheets, inquiry and purchase requisitions, pre-bid meetings, technical evaluations, kick-off meetings, vendor data reviews, simulation studies, and field evaluation/verification.
- Must work with F&E Engineer and Program Manager to select the proper equipment for each workstation
- Perform basic static simulations as needed
- Effectively work with the client, Program Manager, and other assigned team members
- Perform other duties as required for the successful completion of the project/program

Preferred Skills / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- AutoCAD Experience
- Time Studies / MODAPTS / MOST
- Preferred experience with process software tools
- Plant experience
- Proficient in MS – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Travel required up to 100% [ Work will include a week at home every few weeks]
