Developing digital manufacturing models using scanning, 3D Modeling and manufacturing optimization tools. Developing plant layouts, conveyors and workstation models out of 3D laser scanned Point Cloud data. Conducting Material Planning and Throughput Simulation. Creating 3D CAD Models using CAD Software such as Factory Design Suite, Inventor, FactoryCAD, and Revit software. Collecting and analyzing information to develop Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Generating PFEP and PPAPs to gather information with respect to material storage, consumption and transport. Analyzing engineering specifications, process flows, material flow and product requirements to identify efficient ways to use workers, machines, materials, information, and ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes. Interacting with cross-functional teams to resolve operational problems. Interacting with other Industrial Engineering and CAD teams to get the desired results. Improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, equipment layout, processes and procedures. Reducing double handling of material, improving productivity and eliminating waste performing standard time studies or Modular Arrangement of Predetermined Time Standards (MODAPTS). Using discrete-event and continuous simulation modeling tools to develop process improvement models for manufacturing, supply chain, and service industry. Designing manufacturing and material handling systems to meet requirements. Using computer simulation modeling and other mathematical and statistical calculations to optimize operations and designing production planning and control systems. Creating sampling procedure and designs, helping to improve ways to distribute goods and services. Use of the following lean manufacturing and time study simulation software tools Arena, AutoMod, ProModel, Simul8, Technomatrix Plant simulation, flow Planner, WITNESS as well as lean tools such as Value Stream/Process Mapping, 5S, Visual Management, SMED, Standard Work, TPM, Kanban, and the Theory of Constraints. Determining and forecasting changes in business/factory processes to support and implement continuous improvement.
Education or Experience in process mapping techniques, designing experiments using 2d and 3D Cad modeling, graphical analysis of data, planning and scheduling.
Qualified candidates will possess a master’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience gained prior to degree completion is acceptable.
