Lean Healthcare WorkshopsLH-01Introduction to Healthcare Lean Workshop1 dayThis one-day introductory workshop applies systems and tools of Lean Thinking to hospitals, clinics, and office practice. The course teaches how to get rid of activities that add cost, but not value, such as waiting for appointments, lab results, roentograms, and elective surgery. The Lean Healthcare Enterprise provides services with the highest quality and lowest cost such as Same Day Office Visit, Next Day Outpatient Surgery, Next Day Mammogram, No Wait Emergency Room, Next Day Pathology Report and Quick Errorless Billing.

Lean Healthcare WorkshopsLH-03Healthcare 5S Visual Workplace Workshop1 dayThe Visual Workplace or 5S Workshop teaches a process and method for creating and maintaining an organized, clean, high-performance workplace where abnormalities are obvious. The 5S workshop is designed to identify and eliminate waste in the healthcare workplace, and will be the basis forcontinuing discipline and process improvement. The objective is to train people in your organization to do your own 5S Workshops, with limited guidance from us, as needed. The 5S Workshop is 1/3 classroom and 2/3 healthcare workplace.

Lean Healthcare WorkshopsLH-02Healthcare Value Stream Management Workshop1 dayThis Workshop introduces Lean Thinking to Healthcare workers. During this workshop participants will learn theory and practice of Value Stream Management of clinical, administrative and laboratory work. Concepts and techniques of Lean Thinking are applied to activities such as purchasing, accounting, human resources, admissions, pharmacy delivery and inventory control, clinical laboratory procedures, and procedure scheduling. Administrative, nursing, and laboratory personnel will learn how to reduce lead-time by decreasing paperwork inventory and document rework and improve process flow by load leveling. The Value Stream Management Workshop is one-half classroom and one-half office or laboratory work place, with 8-12 personnel from designated departments. During this workshop participants will learn theory and practice of Value Stream Management of administrative and laboratory work.

Lean Manufacturing WorkshopsLM-01Shop Floor Value Stream Mapping Workshop1 dayIdentifying the value stream of a product line exposes waste by revealing steps that add no value, such as inspection, storage and rework. Traditional methods to reduce cost are organized by departments, not value streams, and therefore hide, rather than eliminate, waste. Conventional schemes to reduce cost do not address the key principles of lean thinking: Value Stream, Flow, Pull Systems and Quest for Perfection. This one day Workshop is classroom and shop floor, should have 8-12 shop floor personnel, including machine operators, material handlers and Production Managers.

The hands-on exercise teaches fundamental precepts of Lean Manufacturing. Participants will learn and practice Takt time, one-piece flow, JIT production, visual workplace, pull systems, work balance and continuous improvement. The 4-hour Workshop is done in a classroom with no more than 21 participants. It is suitable for assembly operators and office personnel. Two workshops can be done per day.

Lean Manufacturing WorkshopsLM-06Build-in-Quality (Error Proofing) Workshop1 dayThis Workshop teaches how to select and use error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) tools to ensure built-in-quality. Once root cause is determined for a particular quality defect, the team will error-proof the process to prevent recurrence.Inquire Herenoyesno
Lean Manufacturing WorkshopsLM-07Pull System Workshop1 dayThe Pull System Workshop teaches and demonstrates how product is pulled through the plant in response to customer demand. We shall use load-leveling tools (Heijunka Box) to smooth flow through the process to pace production to meet Takt time.

Professional Development Skills TrainingPDS-16Process Mapping (Flow Diagramming)1-2 daysPossibly one of the single most important improvement tools, process mapping allows the company to see exactly what is really happening (or not happening) at a macro or micro level. Participants in this workshop will experience five different process mapping types and learn how, when and why to use each. After completion of this course participants will understand and be able to apply these methods to problematic processes or to look at existing processes from a continuous improvement standpoint.
