The factory, with multiple building expansions spanning several decades, faced numerous challenges. Major structural damage due to storms and unforeseen natural forces compounded the difficulties. The structures, built using different methods from the 1950s onward, had become difficult to seal effectively for heating and cooling.
We were tasked with creating a comprehensive 3D map of a factory built in 1951, which previously lacked any digital representations of its structure. This mapping was crucial for our client's architectural and construction purposes. The factory faced several major issues, such as outdated drainage that would cause flooding inside the factory, rusting major structural elements. Additionally, the facility needed new exits, which necessitated obtaining city approval. Our client's primary goal was to improve the work environment for employees by updating structures and enhancing energy efficiency. The 3D mapping enabled the identification of key areas for improvement, streamlined the construction process, and ensured that all updates met modern standards and regulatory requirements.
